Is it a boy or a girl? Find out with a gender reveal cake!

When a new baby is on the way, there are so many exciting moments. Many expecting parents opt to find out the baby’s gender before he or she is born. And whether it’s a boy or a girl, it is wonderful news and a reason for a little celebration. What could be more fun than to reveal the baby’s gender with a delicious and colorful cake?

Cake and Bake loves being a part of this special moment. It’s a very simple idea, but cutting into a cake and seeing the pink or blue color is such a delight for Dad, friends and family—and even Mom, depending on how it’s done.  Older siblings particularly get tickled with a mystery cake that tells them whether the new baby is a brother or a sister. It’s like a magical little game with a sweet reward.

One popular trend with gender reveal parties is to keep the gender a secret to everyone, including the parents.  It’s even more exciting for everyone when the expecting parents don’t know the answer until the cake has been cut into. If this is the decided route, then it is important to inform the sonographer before the ultrasound, so that he or she doesn’t spoil the surprise. The sonographer can then put the results of the ultrasound in a sealed envelope, which can then be given to Cake and Bake. (Please note that Cake and Bake will ask you to sign off on your decision to allow us to make your cake based on the results provided by the sonographer.) From there, we will make the appropriate gender reveal cake for your party.
Liven up the event by having friends and family wear blue or pink shirts depending on which side they wish to root for (Team Boy vs. Team Girl). And don’t forget to mix up your favorite pink and blue beverages!

The exterior of the cake is often white, with brightly-colored polka dots and a question mark in the center, or a combination of pink and blue baby-related designs, which could include babies, bottles, rattles, teddy-bears, dolls, or pacifiers; just to name a few. If you would prefer another kind of special gender reveal treat, let us know. Most of all; have fun getting ready for your new family member!
